What's the deal with me and parties...specifically me not getting to go to/stay at parties. The last party I was at, one of my friends decided to dislocate her knee which led to my not staying at the party. And tonight is some big fall festival party, and i'm sitting on my ace in Eastland. Screw all you people and your stupid parties.

On that note...i'm throwing a halloween party simply because i have a idea for a rad costume and i'm not gonna risk it going to waste. Of course the party will probably not be thrown at my apartment or even organized by me really, but it can still be MY party and i can still cry if i want to.
You would cry to if it happened to you.

I really like the new English building at Tech a lot, but i must point out a major fault in the oversight of the beauracracy. On every floor about every five feet there are the recycle bins labeled "aluminum only" and "paper only," but so far...(excluding in the restrooms) i have found one trash can for just plain trash. ONE! This building is so big it could even be referred to as a compound, yet has only one trash can for real trash.

But the real reason for this post is to remind all of you guys to PUSH THE ORANGE PUBLISH BUTTON after you have posted something...whatever you wrote does not appear until you publish it (or i have to publish it for you). over and out.

well since this board is partially about "dropping names," "schmoozing," and just general mayheim..i'd like to toot my own horn...haha. yes i coined the now famous always infamous "vegan mafia"...now i just like matthew am not vegan but i'd still like to contribute to the cause. wow how cocky did this post just sound...i am delerious and need a nap....and pete don't neglect the always large guy named "tiny"

So if i start watching Sopranos on Sundays with this "vegan mafia" and i'm not vegan (and never will be), does that make me like the token black guy in predominately white movies or the ever-present dumb blonde in horror movies? and if the answer is yes, does that mean my character is gonna get killed off before all the other characters?

cheers to jake...take over the whole damn system! if you need a lookout i'll help. i think the first thing to go should be the art building or wait...greek circle. all i can say is gernades and firearms...haha. maybe you guys should form the vegan militia. just for today, and right now...i hate school. but at least my hair looks good!

As far as that mafia clean up man thing goes travis, i think i have a few zip-lock bags you can borrow if you need to bag up any spare body parts. and in reference to GTA 3...guess what suckas...I'm gonna own the new one (GTA vice city) in a couple weeks [no worries, i have it on reserve purchase]. and i can't believe i just admitted that revealing how much of a nerd i really am pre-purchasing video games. geez.
yay for open jams...hey travis, how bout you and me and jake all get up on stage at the same time and rock out in the key of E.

hey...word on the street is that arm & hammer stuff will take the funk out of any smell. i am not sure though...i suppose you could set the box neatly beside the reaker of the funk. perhaps you should wash out your trash can. i know that's a nasty idea...but it just might work. this is the toast signing out for a tad.

Can someone tell me why my trash can is making my whole apartment smell like rotting fruit when my trash can does not contain any fruit or other discarded items that should smell at all? While i'm on the pre-entry digression, i also want to say "Luis...your show freaking rocked tonight." Ok - down to business. I can't really explain how nice it is to finally have friends here, and not just generic friends, but creative, caring, and intelligent friends (well, at least some are intelligent). After 8 months plus of being in Lubbock and hanging out by myself, i must say that it feels very nice to exist within some sort of social consciousness.

Now wipe that tear off your face because the sentimentality is over, you pansy.

i should be doing my homework...but why do that...there are 24 hours in a day right. i felt so cool..i actually "knew" people on campus today. it wasn't just the beautiful people making kiss kiss faces at each other. such a snazzy feeling. i'd like to take this time to say hi to the lubbock vegan mafia (you know who you are). and mattheo is so cool...i feel like i should contribute something productive here...what's the best cool aid flavor? i was never allowed to drink that as a kid (it was a banned substance at my house as a kid)..i know i know...that's odd. rules, who needs them? haha...here's a thought provoking question...i know there are some artsy people in this hole...do you think the "sublime" (in an art sense) is something that can be attained? and is the sublime based on your reaction to the art itself or a sensory reaction? now that's something to think about. more later kids...

i know i just created this thing less than an hour ago, but i'm already addicted. so during my lunchbreak from work (a.k.a. pretending to do work while i'm actually posting on the blog), i explored my inner being as to why i started this blog. here's the comprehensive list of reasons:
1. i have more than 70 essays that i shoud be grading right now
2. i need to feel productive by writing something, and this is easier than writing my thesis
3. my friends are online dorks like me and will probably post on this thing almost as much as me
4. i am bob nanna
5. this list was going to be a lot longer, but for now, my brain has wandered elsewhere and i actually have a student who has just walked in my office.

I'm starting this blog for reasons pretty much unknown other than the fact that I thought it would be nice for all of us (friends and whatnot) to have a place to talk about things that are going on in Lubbock, things going on that we like, things going on that we don't like, as well has having a place to vent or show everyone else how deep you are by posting philisophical thoughts or how funny you are by posting your under-your-breath whispers of wit. So anything is game, but being the moderator, if you get mean, excessively crude, or just downright stupid, I reserve the right to delete your post and maybe even ban you from the blog. But lets hope that doesn't happen.

Make sure when you write a post to not only post it, but click on the "publish" button as well.

Happy blogging.
